Snowy is a large white Greyhound
SNOWY

SNOWY

Snowy (Dartrey Snow) is a stunning white greyhound covered in small black spots.  He was born on the 7th September 2011, is 29" to the shoulder and weighs about 36kg.
Snowy lives in a house so is house trained, neutered, inoculated, microchipped and is a super dog who is very affectionate, walks okay on the lead and travels well in a car. Snowy loves apples and a number of other fruits!
He's quite a whimp really as he's scared of aeroplanes flying over and will want to get back to the house. He hates having his nails clipped and his teeth cleaned so much so his previous owner and trainer had them done if he had to go to the vets for anything and they could sedate him. This may, or may not improve as time passes!

Snowy used to have separation anxiety when he first arrived but is now more settled and understands the phrase 'stay there, back soon'.  He is liked by everyone who sees him, travels well in a car and is okay with other breeds of dogs.  His separation anxiety has almost gone as we can now leave him with no muzzle on and there are no accidents upon our return.

Can you help us find Snowy a home?

King is a lovely black ex-racing greyhound
KING
KING

King had been with us a while looking for a new home, but because of one thing and another he is now back with his previous owner/trainer living in his home until we can find him a very special home of his own.
The home King needs is with an experienced greyhound owner, one where he will be an only dog who can be given lots of love and affection, one where there is a garden for him to sit and run around in, and one where there are no young children or the grandchildren rarely visit. Having said all this though, we have since discovered there was a male greyhound living in the foster home where King was staying and where many of the issues arose.  The male greyhound we have since discovered does NOT want another male in the house and this could be why King was behaving the way he was, which was out of character and none of which we experienced here.
King's puppyhood and early years had been awful and he would have died had his current owner/trainer not been told of his plight and saved his life by purchasing him.  He took King into his home where he brought him back to good health with a
lot of TLC, and to thank him King won many races for him.  In view of King's past and present circumstances I didn't have the heart to send him to another Greyhound Trust branch where he may remain the rest of his life, so I spoke to his previous owner/trainer who agreed to have him back.  He loves King dearly and doesn't want to see any harm come to him, so he will live with him in his home until we find King a special home of his own, and if that doesn't come along he will keep King forever.

Can you help us find King that special home?

Dora - white & blue Greyhound
DORA
DORA

Dora (Short Fuse) is a pretty white and blue ex-racing greyhound who was born on the 19th March 2015 and weighs about 26kg.,  Dora lives in a house so is house trained.  She is also spayed, microchipped and her inoculations are up to date.
Dora went to her new home on Friday 6th July 2018 to live with Shay, who is a fawn Whippet.  Sadly during August their owner became gravely ill and passed away.
Dora is a very affectionate and loving girl who is okay with children and other breeds of dogs.  She walks nicely on a lead and travels well in a car, but we need to find her a home with either another dog as a companion or where she is with someone the majority of the time.  This is because she's not happy being left on her own.  She's not destructive but she gets very anxious and will bark to call her owner back.

Can you help us find Dora a home?

Sophie is a black Greyhound
SOPHIE
SOPHIE

Sophie (Sophies Spirit) is a really lovely black ex-racing greyhound who was born in August 2014.
Sophie is house trained, spayed, inoculated and microchipped.
She is a very friendly, loving girl who enjoys a play and a cuddle.
She can get a little excited when she first meets you, but that may be her trying to get your attention in front of the others, and she's better with older children at the moment because of this.
She has a good appetite and to see her run around the garden you wouldn't credit she'd damaged her hock while racing.  This was strapped, has repaired and is now okay.
We are currently still assessing Sophie with other breeds of dogs, some she is okay with while others she will have a grumble or bark at.  She did this the first time she saw a sheep in a field, second time she was okay.

Can you help us find Sophie a home?

Ziha - white & black Greyhound
ZIHA
ZIHA

Ziha (Trapstyle Ziha) is a beautiful white and black ex-racing greyhound who just didn't want to race.  She is house trained, spayed, inoculated and microchipped.

MAX
MAX

Max (Denwill Rooster) is a stunning fawn ex-racing greyhound who was born in July 2014 and weighs 32kg.. He is house trained, neutered, inoculated and microchipped.
Max has a lovely nature and we've been told he should be okay with other breeds of dog, but as yet we haven't had chance to assess him with any yet. He walks nicely on a lead and travels well in a car.
From behind he looks like a smaller version as our Star and on a couple of occasions we've mixed them up. Max is still settling in here and at present he's not the cool, calm guy that our Star is, but there's time yet!

Can you help us find Max a home?

SADIE
SADIE

Sadie is a very pretty white and black greyhound who is under 2 years old.  She has never raced because she is a very nervous dog who needs time to get to know people.
Whilst she was being spayed the vet noticed a hernia so that was repaired at the same time. She is house trained, inoculated and microchipped.
She knows her name and will run around in circles if she's frightened looking for somewhere to escape to.
For the first few days, apart from feeding and toileting we've left her much to herself in her crate, which has the door open so she can come out if she wishes to see what is going on. She soon realised she was missing out when the others got treats and cuddles and each day is seeing her become more confident around us. She is wagging her tail a lot and she's a smiler!
Whoever adopts Sadie must give her time to get to know them, not to expect too much from her at the beginning, preferably have another dog she can bond with and have a very secure back garden because when she panics she can jump!

Can you help us find Sadie a home?

Stevie is a black greyhound
STEVIE
STEVIE

We homed Stevie back in July but through no fault of his own he is back with us looking for his truly forever home.  The employment and family circumstances in his new home sadly changed and it was deemed in Stevie's best interest he come back to us.
Stevie (Steves Summer) was born on the 15th April 2013 and was born with the white on his face.  He weighs 34.5kg. Having lived in a house for some time he is house trained and used to the family way of life and is neutered, inoculated and microchipped.  He is a very quiet, loving and gentle dog who likes to lean against you for a stroke and doesn’t mind another dog cuddling up to him. You don't know you have him half the time and he walks super on the lead once his initial excitement is over.  He travels well in a car, is okay with other breeds of dogs and loves children, but is not suitable for a home with cats.

Can you help us find Stevie a home?
