Snowy is a large white Greyhound
SNOWY

SNOWY

Snowy is a stunning white greyhound covered in small black spots.  He was born on the 7th September 2011, is 29" to the shoulder and weighs about 36kg.
Snowy is house trained, neutered, inoculated, microchipped and is a super dog who is very affectionate, and after his initial excitement when he knows he's going for a walk is okay on the lead and travels well in a car. He loves apples! Snowy was quite an insecure lad when he arrived and got upset when aeroplanes flew over but he's now okay. He hates having his nails clipped and his teeth cleaned so much so his previous owner and trainer had them done if he had to go to the vets for anything and they could sedate him.  This may, or may not improve!
Snowy was homed once where he stayed for just o
ver a week.  His new owner fell in love with him and adored him, but he suffered separation anxiety when left on his own to such an extent his new owner who lived on his own came to the decision that Snowy had to come back to us.
Snowy has now settled with us and is liked by everyone who sees him.  He travels well in a car and is okay with other breeds of dogs.  His separation anxiety has almost gone as we can now leave him with no muzzle on and there are no accidents upon our return.  However, he is with other dogs so perhaps the right home for Snowy is either with another calm dog or one where
at least one of his owners are at home most of the time or they can take him with them, at least initially until he becomes settled.

Missy - brindle Greyhound
WILLOW

WILLOW)

Willow (Mischief Mystery) is a beautiful brindle greyhound who was born on the 25th September 2013 and weighs 28kg.  She is house trained, spayed, inoculated, microchipped, recently had a dental and one of her front toes removed due to a deep bone infection that antibiotics failed to cure.
She has a lovely nature, enjoys playing with her toys, eats her food well, is perfect in the house, good with children and travels well in a car.
When she first arrived she was very aloof, wary of cyclists, vehicles, other breeds of dogs and the 'big outside world' - she was outside her comfort zone!  As time passed she's become more settled and the big outside world no longer bothers her.  When out walking keep her on a very short lead, about a foot long, close to your side and she soon comes to realise that nothing will hurt her while you are there beside her. She's now fine with most breeds of dogs but will bark at any who come at her 'in her face' or are off lead.  This isn't aggression but she is being wary of the other dog and the barking is a warning to keep back. If allowed to stand still and watch she settles, especially if you decide to talk to the other dog's owner.
Until she gets to know you she may seem aloof, pull on the lead and react to dogs because she needs an owner who has leadership skills and to whom she can learn to trust.  Once she has that trust she becomes herself, which is very loving and adorable dog who is more settled on her walks. Willow is being fostered with Sarah, her family and her two greyhounds, all of whom love her to bits especially one of the greyhounds who she enjoys playing with.

King is a lovely black ex-racing greyhound
KING
KING

King has been with us a while looking for a new home, but because of one thing and another he is now back with his previous owner/trainer living in his home until we can find King a very special home of his own.
The home King needs is with an experienced greyhound owner, one where he will be an only dog who can be given lots of love and affection, one where there is a garden for him to sit and run around in, and one where there are no young children or the grandchildren rarely visit.
King's puppyhood and early years had been awful and he would have died had his current owner/trainer not been told of his plight and saved his life by purchasing him.  He took King into his home where he brought him back to good health with a lot of TLC, and to thank him King won many races for him.  In view of King's past and present circumstances I didn't have the heart to send him to another Greyhound Trust branch where he may remain the rest of his life, so I spoke to his previous owner/trainer who agreed to have him back.  He loves King dearly and doesn't want to see any harm come to him, so he will live with him in his home until we find King a special home of his own, and if that doesn't come along he will keep King forever.

Can you help us find King that special home?

Belle - Nippy Belle - black greyhound
BELLE
BELLE

Belle (Nippy Belle) is a black female ex-racing Greyhound who has a quiet and loving nature yet also loves playing and having a mad dash every now and again.
She was born in September 2013, weighs about 25kg,, is house trained, spayed, fully inoculated, microchipped, walks nicely on a lead but can be a little wary in new places, which is improving all the time.  She loves it when we have a female dog here and will lay with her and play with her if she can.  When in a playful mood you may see a tea towel or something similar disappear off the table as she walks past to be dropped on the floor a few yards further on.  She is fine with children and other breeds of dogs including small ones and she travels well in a car.
