Blaze (Hovex Blaze) is a black Greyhoud

BLAZE
BLAZE

Blaze (Hovex Blaze) is a handsome tall black long legged ex-racing male Greyhound who was born on the 22nd April 2014.
He is house trained, neutered, inoculated and microchipped.  He's a smiler, which I think is lovely showing he's a submissive dog and he smiles when he's pleased to see you.  He also 'talks' to you!
Blaze is okay with children and what we've seen to date is okay with other breeds of dogs, walks super on the lead and travels well in a car.
When Blaze first arrived he came with very long nails, one havng broken off a while ago and another just done.  His previous owner said he hated having his nails clipped and they could only be trimmed after a race when he was exhausted, and then they could only manage a couple.  However, we have found a way of doing them that doesn't upset him and they have now all been clipped.  He's so much happier as a result and the vet has put him on a supplement to see if this will help the condition of his nails. We are also giving him Omega3 capsules as these will help, and these have given him a lovely shiny coat.  Before Blaze's nails were cut he wouldn't allow anyone to touch his feet - other dogs or people, but the evening of they day they were cut we spotted another dog laying with her nose across his feet showing they were no longer painful.
Blaze is a quiet dog who likes his own bed and will make someone a beautiful companion.

Sadie is a white and black greyhound
Sadie - Klopps Wee Sadio Greyhound
SADIE
SADIE

Sadie is a very pretty white and black greyhound who was born on the 1st December 2016.  She has never raced because she is a very nervous girl who needs a great deal of time to get to know people.
She's a real character once she gets to know you though.  Will smile at you, wag her tail, lick your hand and even play crouching down at you.  She's a lovely dog but needs a lot of time to settle in.
Whilst she was being spayed the vet noticed a hernia so that was repaired at the same time. She is house trained, inoculated and microchipped.
She knows her name and will run around in circles if she's frightened looking for somewhere to escape to.
For the first few days, apart from feeding and toileting we've left her much to herself in her crate, which has the door open so she can come out if she wishes to see what is going on. She soon realised she was missing out when the others got treats and cuddles and each day is seeing her become more confident around us. She is wagging her tail a lot and she's a smiler!
Whoever adopts Sadie must give her time to get to know them, not to expect too much from her at the beginning, preferably have another dog she can bond with and have a very secure back garden because when she panics she can jump!

Can you help us find Sadie a home?

Peeps is a blue Greyhound
PEEPS
PEEPS

Peeps is a blue male ex-racing greyhound who was born on the 23rd August 2013.

He has a very nice nature, is very affectionate, loves to play but can be a bit giddy at times.  He weighs 33 kg., is okay on the lead and travels well in a car.  Not sure about other breeds of dogs as he's not yet been assessed but he's submissive to the female greyhound he’s been kennelled with.

Can you help us find Peeps a home?

King is a lovely black ex-racing greyhound
KING
KING

King had been with us a while looking for a new home, but because of one thing and another he is now back with his previous owner/trainer living in his home until we can find him a very special home of his own.
The home King needs is with an experienced greyhound owner, one where he will be an only dog who can be given lots of love and affection, one where there is a garden for him to sit and run around in, and one where there are no young children or the grandchildren rarely visit. Having said all this though, we have since discovered there was a male greyhound living in the foster home where King was staying and where many of the issues arose.  The male greyhound we have since discovered does NOT want another male in the house and this could be why King was behaving the way he was, which was out of character and none of which we experienced here.
King's puppyhood and early years had been awful and he would have died had his current owner/trainer not been told of his plight and saved his life by purchasing him.  He took King into his home where he brought him back to good health with a
lot of TLC, and to thank him King won many races for him.  In view of King's past and present circumstances I didn't have the heart to send him to another Greyhound Trust branch where he may remain the rest of his life, so I spoke to his previous owner/trainer who agreed to have him back.  He loves King dearly and doesn't want to see any harm come to him, so he will live with him in his home until we find King a special home of his own, and if that doesn't come along he will keep King forever.

Can you help us find King that special home?

Sophie is a black Greyhound

SOPHIE
SOPHIE

Sophie (Sophies Spirit) is a really lovely black ex-racing greyhound who was born in August 2014.
Sophie is house trained, spayed, inoculated and microchipped.
She is a very affectionate and loving girl who enjoys a play and a cuddle.  She sleeps in our bedroom, which is the place she chose to spend the night and we don't hear a peep out of her.
She can get a little excited when she first meets you, but she's a hapy girl and it is probably her trying to get your attention in front of the others.  Because of her happy and playfullnes we feel she's better with older children at the moment because of this.
She has a good appetite and to see her run around the garden you wouldn't credit she'd damaged her hock while racing.  This was strapped, has repaired and is now okay.
Sophie appears okay with other dogs, but because she is so playful the trick is not to let her have a long lead and to keep her on a short one close to you which makes her more settled as the other dog approaches.
Sophie is adorable and will make someone a really nice companion.
